About Jo
Like many of you, I was born and raised in Wisconsin and have lived in Appleton for 17 years. I am married to Dave, and have two adult children. I served on the Appleton City Council for 10 years and on several community boards, including my church’s Ministry Council, the Fox River Area Girl Scouts, the Gardens of the Fox Cities, and the Fox Valley Jail Ministry. I currently serve on the board of directors for the Fox Cities Habitat for Humanity and the United Sports Association for Youth.
This experience—particularly my time on the City Council—has uniquely prepared me to fight for you in Madison. While on the City Council, I fought an uphill, but successful, battle to pass Appleton’s Tax Levy Ordinance, which says the city can’t increase spending any faster than your incomes are growing at home. I also was the whistleblower on the water plant, objecting from the beginning not only to the luxury components in the design, but more importantly to the sole source bid for the experimental technology that has failed to perform as contracted.
As your State Representative, I promise to continue fighting for you and your family.
